The homeowners at this gardern were looking for a low-maintenance retreat from the noise and traffic of the city, but one that felt like it had always been there. They also wanted a garden design that could be implemented over a period of two or more years.

In order to do this, we decided on what was most important for the homeowners, as well as what made the most sense to start with. We decided to do all of the hard landscaping in the first year, which included a paving stone patio, a small yoga pad made with existing pavers, and a winding pathway from the house to the back gate.
