With the flagstone that was used throughout the original garden, we created a curved stone pathway from the side gate to the back entrance. Because this pathway would be used by the owner's clients, we wanted to create a peaceful, lush environment with plenty of year-round colour and fragrance. We closed off a utility area with removeable cedar lattice and created a small garden filled with very special plants, each in turn creating it's own stunning show throughout the year.
Our final challenge was to incorporate an existing arbour into the garden, which had previously felt like a gateway to nowhere. In order to give the arbour some context, we built gardens all around it and put in a new, rounded lawn on the other side. This created yet another destination within the garden.
In the end, we created a very lush, west coast paradise, in which the owners can choose any of three sitting areas for entertainment or quiet relaxation.
